Welcome

You’ll find updates on our work, practical information, and ways to get involved in protecting and improving Windermere. We welcome informed, respectful discussion. We won’t allow abuse, misinformation presented as fact, or behaviour that derails constructive conversation.

We’re a small team – every post, reply, and piece of content you see here is created by a real person doing their best to share information, celebrate successes, and help our community. Please remember there’s a human behind the screen.

Our commitment

We will:

  • Share updates, data, and stories about the partnership’s work and impact.
  • Provide reliable, evidence-based information about issues affecting Windermere.
  • Highlight opportunities to get involved and celebrate community efforts.
  • Respond to comments and messages when possible during office hours (Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm), engaging with those who follow these rules.

What we expect from you

Please:

  • Be respectful. Challenge ideas, not people.
  • Remember you are speaking to real people.
  • Stick to the platform’s Terms of Use and these house rules.
  • Keep comments relevant to the post topic.
  • Add value: share experiences, constructive questions, or credible sources.

What we won’t accept

We may hide or remove content that includes:

  • Threatening, abusive, harassing, discriminatory, or defamatory remarks toward individuals, partners, or groups.
  • False or misleading claims presented as fact, including manipulated content.
  • Spam, off-topic promotion, doxxing, or sharing personal/private information.
  • Repetitive posting designed to provoke or re-ask questions we’ve already answered and linked to.
  • Obscene or indecent material.

Serious or repeated breaches may result in account restrictions or a block. Where content appears to incite harm or break the law, we may report it to the platform and/or relevant authorities.

How we moderate

  • Tone first: we’ll prioritise calm, factual replies and links to further reading.
  • Signposting: if a question is answered in our FAQs or Science and Insights reports, we’ll link there rather than repeat threads.
  • Misinformation: we’ll correct inaccurate claims with sources. Persistently posting debunked claims may be limited or removed to keep conversations useful for others.
  • Limits: to protect contributors and our team, we may limit replies, turn off comments, or slow the thread if a discussion becomes dominated by a small number of accounts.
  • Record-keeping: we may retain screenshots of comments that breach these rules for moderation, safeguarding, or legal purposes.

Response times

We try to monitor channels Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm. Outside these hours, we’ll pick things up as soon as possible. We cannot provide individual support via social media. Please use the contact routes below.
